I. Project Overview and Positioning

This solution uses building facades as a medium, integrating wall-mounted water curtains, high-definition projection, smart lighting, and synchronized audio systems to create an immersive light and shadow landscape suitable for both day and night. It is suitable for cultural and tourism attractions, municipal plazas, commercial complexes, and park perimeter walls, and can be customized based on the dimensions and style of the building.

Project Positioning: During the day, the installation presents a minimalist, static water curtain landscape; at night, it delivers a dynamic light-and-water synchronized show. This approach moves beyond the homogenized effects of traditional, overly cluttered lighting designs, balancing aesthetic appeal with the commercial value of nighttime tourism.

II. Core Design Philosophy

The overall design adheres to four core principles to ensure sophisticated, stable, and easily implementable results:

– Landscape Design in Harmony with the Environment: Renovations are tailored to the existing wall structure without damaging the building’s facade, achieving seamless integration between the water feature and the architecture.

– Transparent Imaging: Leveraging the semi-transparent nature of the water curtain, the design employs high-contrast, low-saturation visuals to ensure clean, transparent images free from blurring or scattering.

– Four-Dimensional Immersion: Precise synchronization of water patterns, light and shadow, lighting, and music, combined with a multi-layered visual layout, creates a three-dimensional, immersive viewing experience.

– Smart Adaptability: Multiple themed scenes can be automatically switched, supporting both routine daily playback and customized displays for holidays and events.

III. Water Curtain Wall Structural System

The core design standards focus on ensuring an even and stable water film without splashing, while optimizing it for projection imaging.

1. Wall Surface Preparation

The wall is finely adjusted to a slight incline of 85°–88°, utilizing water’s surface tension to form a flow that adheres to the wall, eliminating flow interruptions and water dispersion; the wall surface is treated with a waterproof matte finish to prevent glare and corrosion, ensuring projection clarity.

2. Closed-Loop Water Supply and Distribution System

– Top Flow-Distribution Channel: A custom-made, silent stainless steel flow-distribution structure paired with precision water nozzles creates a smooth, thin water film of 0.5–2 mm, meeting the requirements for high-definition imaging.

– Recirculating Water Supply: A silent water pump, high-precision filtration, and water level monitoring enable a water-saving closed-loop circulation system; supports adaptive water flow adjustment based on wind speed and temperature to ensure wind resistance and water stability.

– Bottom Water Collection and Drainage: An integrated water collection trough and wastewater drainage structure reduces noise, prevents slipping, and eliminates water accumulation and overflow on the venue floor.

3. Concealed Water Stabilization Structure

A concealed auxiliary water stabilization mesh is installed behind the water curtain without obstructing the projected imagery, further stabilizing the water flow pattern and ensuring a clean, uncluttered overall appearance.

IV. Light and Shadow Lighting System Design

Adopts a layered light and shadow system based on the principle of “projection as the main element, lighting as the foundation, and lasers as the finishing touch.” The entire system operates in synchronized coordination via the DMX512 protocol, ensuring stable imaging and a unified rhythm.

1. 4K Water Screen Projection System

Outdoor high-brightness engineering projectors are used, which are resistant to water mist and ambient light, making them suitable for long-term outdoor nighttime use. The images are optimized for the scattering characteristics of the water curtain, featuring high-contrast, bold-line content design to ensure clear and three-dimensional imaging on the flowing water curtain.

2. Ambient Lighting Matrix

– LED Color-Changing Lights: Low-saturation hues of blue, purple, silver, and cyan provide a base layer, achieving soft color gradients and creating a sophisticated nighttime atmosphere.

– Moving Head Beam Lights: Synchronized with music cues, dynamic sweeping, and strobe effects to enhance the dynamism and rhythmic depth of the visuals.

– Waterproof Laser Lights: Create special effects such as auroras, particle trails, and twinkling stars to heighten the spectacle’s impact and sense of technological sophistication.

– Underwater LED Lights: Illuminate the water curtain’s texture from the bottom up, enhancing the seamless fusion of water and light.

3. Three Layers of Light and Shadow

Forecast: Main projection on the foreground water curtain; midground ambient wall lighting; and background laser environmental effects. These three progressive layers eliminate a flat, one-dimensional appearance and achieve a three-dimensional, immersive effect.

V. Content Theme Script Design

Three preset regular themes are available, with support for custom content tailored to specific holidays. All visuals are adapted to the fluid characteristics of the water curtain, ensuring dynamic, natural, and seamless presentation.

– Water and Light Enchantment (Everyday Serenity): Gentle, dynamic movements such as ripples, mist, starlight, and waves, with low saturation and a slow pace, suited for everyday leisurely nightscapes.

– Rhythm of Light (Tech-Driven Dynamism): Particle matrices, geometric lines, and darting light and shadow, with strong rhythmic beats, ideal for commercial foot traffic generation and social media sharing.

– Natural Wonders (Humanistic Art): Scenes evoking natural landscapes—such as mountains, rivers, flowers, leaves, and the Milky Way—ideal for municipal, cultural tourism, and cultural park settings.

– Holiday Customization: Customizable visuals, subtitles, and celebratory effects for the Spring Festival, National Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, and New Year’s Eve, perfect for festive events.

VI. Audio-Visual Synchronization System

Equipped with outdoor, waterproof panoramic speakers for complete, dead-zone-free sound coverage. A professional media server ensures precise four-dimensional synchronization of music, water flow, lighting, and projections—with exact timing and a seamless audiovisual experience. Soothing white noise can be played during regular operations, while dynamic background music can be activated for events.

VII. Intelligent Control System

– Fully Automated Operation: Intelligent scheduled start/stop, light-sensing adaptive brightness, and automatic scene switching enable routine, unattended operation.

– Manual Control: Dual control via backend and mobile devices, supporting on-the-fly theme changes and activation/deactivation of special effects to accommodate event needs.
